Fibery Goodness~~

With the rush of the holidays and me getting the stomach flu on Christmas Eve...traveling to Williamsburg to visit family and relax (ha!), hubby getting sick on Saturday (yes, while on a relaxing Christmas vacation)...I think you get the picture. I failed to post the good things that happened through all the muck.

A few days prior to Christmas a couple packages arrived, which I used great self-control to save until Christmas morning to open. This was probably the only real bright spot to my Christmas...this had to be the worst ever. Hugging the toilet and feeling so green isn't much fun.

First from "Down Unda" came a very "squishy" package from my Buddy Terri. How awesome is this? An Australian Yoga magazine, which I'm loving and making me anxious for yoga classes to begin (I'm on the count down 3 weeks...I'm not disciplined enough to take the time to do my yoga and meditate alone--weird huh?)
Also 2 great yarns to find patterns for, Live2Knit (now known as Wired for Fibre) - I love the soft muted colorway and from The Knittery (I love what they have to offer, Terri has sent me yarn from them before) this luscious purple sock yarn...I'm thinking either a cabled sock pattern or maybe a lacy scarf??!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH TERRI, I love your choices...you know me so well! I'm sorry I'm so late in posting.

Second, you remember back in September I met up with one of my BlogBuddies? Anita sent me a fabulous homemade package of lightly scented "smelly jellies" and Snowballs for a luxurious bath! I want to learn how to make these for myself, what a great idea for gifts! Thanks so much Anita! It's very sweet of you to think of me.

While in Williamsburg I did visit Knitting Sisters and made a very small purchase, I'd love to have bought more but I'm seriously needing to cut back or knit up!
I bought the only 2 balls of Rowan 4ply Scottish Tweed, had there been more I would have bought more.

I love the color and thinking of maybe a fair isle tam or mittens?

...oh, and some more sock yarn--but sock yarn doesn't count--right?

We made a trip to Yorktown only to find that Hubby's favorite restaurant as a child is no longer (we knew that already, he just wanted to see it)...instead there are all these really neat shops along the river, including a cute little shop called Colonial Fiber Arts. I bought an extra spool for my Sonata!

Ummmm....and....well, I sort of broke my "I'm not buying any more fiber until I've spun up some of my stash" rule. But how could I not?? ...this bag of Bluefaced Leicester locks kept calling out to me!!

Last but not least...Rudy had his first experience in the sand while we were there, he found out sand isn't good to eat!

I'm going to have to contact the breeder and ask for a commission on the next litter of pups he has...SO many people asked where we got him!!

Well, looks like after this post I'm going to have to get busy...

Keep on Knittin' & Spinnin'!!

That pup IS cute. Dang. And I totally get what you mean about discipline for yoga. I just finished a Yoga 101 class and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I'm a convert for sure.

You got some nice yarns, there.

I know what you mean about not being disciplined. I can't remember the last time I worked out outside of karate class.

So glad you enjoyed it and that it arrived on time! There's a first time for everything. :) Looks like you have added some real treats to your stash in the last little while. Love the photo of Rudy in the sand. He is just too adorable.

Oh, I can't wait to get Gretchen on the sand...

I have the very same Ty-Dye sock yarn. Can't do yoga anymore, which makes me very sad. Pout.
