Warmth...

What keeps you warm on a chilly day?

This is just a sampling of my favs...

I've made Mr. Ace a very happy cat today, in his "advanced age" he's having a hard time adjusting to the cooler temps. Rest assured there are no "Furnace Wars" (it begins on 10/29) happening here...as I showed you before he's buried deep in his winter bed well, little does he know it but today I put the heating pad under his bed on low heat. He hasn't left his bed in 4 hours, don't worry I know he's still breathing~~cause he's snoring!

Bad news arrived in the mail today...every year Explore Park sends us a certificate for our volunteer hours, this year it arrived accompanied by a "The Letter" giving us the news in black and white..."November 30, 2008 Explore Park will cease operation" they will be waiting until June 30, 2008 to find out what Mr. VanderMaten plans to do with the park. I know you all are tired of hearing me whine about this, don't worry...in the words of Forrest Gump~~"That's all I got to say about that!"

This is my 333rd post, but if you are looking for the 333rd post contest you need to go HERE...Cass is a riot!

Keep on Knittin' & Spinnin"!!!!

I'm sorry about the Explore Park. Not surprised given the news lately but still sorry...

and for warmth, my favorite way to stay warm is to camp out on the sofa with a fleece (or any) blankie over me and Bartholamew on my legs and Pepper curled up beside them :) Esp if they're both sleeping instead of fighting. I do have rules about fighting on me... (or behind me when Pepper's on top of my chair and B's in the window. Self preservation and all)

Oh, and as for Mr Ace and his heating pad, they've got those pads like Wendy (Wendyknits.net) got Lucy that don't plug in in case you want to keep him extra warm but not leave the heating pad plugged in. I'm thinking B may get one sooner rather than later...

that is one of the coolest mugs i've seen in awhile! too pretty!

right now we are in an indian summer so nothing 'warm' sounds good to me ...but when it gets chilly again, curled up in bed with my long johns on and a cup of tea is right up there at the top!

That's a really nice coffee cup! Great pic. Makes me wish we were coming into winter now instead of summer! June next year seems like a long time to have to wait to hear what the plans are for the park. Such a shame. :o(

Mr. Ace sure is a lucky cat. He already looked so comfy in his bed without the heat pad. Maybe I need to have one of those for my cats too?

I'm sorry to hear about the park situation.

Beautiful mug, and I have two of those heat-reflective mats that Wendy bought Lucy. I can recommend them highly. Check out http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3261+1883+8982&pcatid=8982

Well, I'm agreeing with everyone else. The coffee mug is gorgeous and that's a really striking photo Robin!

Mr. Ace is lucky to have you looking out for him; he sounds so sweet.

Explore Park. I'll cross my fingers and make a wish that the tradition continues under the new ownership.

What a great idea to put the heating pad under his bed. I know I'd do that if the temperatures here ever got that cold for my Onyx. (She's 19 years old.)

Beautiful mug - hand made? I know I'm posting on a Monday and you aren't fond of them, but cheer up! Thanksgiving is just around the corner. :)
