UFO's...from way back

A couple weeks ago I spent 2 days cleaning, rearranging and reorganizing my fiber/sewing room (which no matter what I do it's still too small). In the process I uncovered several REALLY old UFO's...and they're not knitting related.

This time of year it's really difficult, you see it's been almost 4 years since losing my beloved Granny...my teacher & mentor. I have this HUGE trunk that belonged to her, in this trunk there's 4 pieced quilt tops, 2 that I did and 2 that she did. We were supposed to quilt them...now it's too late. I also have several pieced squares she did and labeled with the design...I ask myself all the time if I should do anything with them?

I also found in this trunk this UFO I spoke of...and started working on it again~

My Granny would be so proud...I know she's smilin' right now!

Keep on Knittin' - Spinnin' & Quiltin'!!

What a wonderful legacy your Grandmother left to you. You shared something really special.

What wonderful memories! You could quilt them in honor and in memory of your Granny; it's a way to keep her very, very close for a while longer. The pieced squares could be a quilted wall hanging or a pillow top.

It's going to be beautiful, just like the memories of Granny

Wonderful memories! Cling to those, and know that if she hadn't been so special, you wouldn't miss her so much.

She would be so glad that you are working on it. Maybe one day we need to have a quilting afternoon

What wonderful memories you have!! And you know what, when my Grandmother found out that she would be gone soon (luckily she had that time) she took me in her sewing room & gave me all the projects that she had yet to finish (crochet & needlepoint), told me to finish them for her. I love every single piece that much more!!! It was a few last projects that we could do together, so to speak. :)
