Wow...has it really been almost a week since my last post?
I just realized I didn't even post about our camping trip almost 2 weeks ago. Though it stormed on that Saturday night we still had a wonderful time...well, except for waking up on that Saturday morning...in a stupor...without caffeine...to look out across from our campsite to see this~~
What do you see?? I literally had to put on my glasses only to find it necessary to ask Hubby if he was seeing what I was seeing! BigFoot lives at Claytor Lake State Park!
We did have the opportunity for a beautiful sunrise...
I must say I love this place, it's nice and peaceful...unlike Smith Mountain Lake, which has become "The Vacation Spot" for many. Personally I prefer a little less noise. I remember as a kid going and not seeing but a few fishing boats all day (I know I'm old). Now there are so many pleasure boats, speed boats and jet skis you really can't enjoy a ride on the lake without being beat-up by the wakes. There was a couple killed a few years ago by a drunk boater, lots of issues with boating and alcohol during the summer. Put me by a babbling stream with a fishing pole and/or my knitting and the birds singing...I'm happy!
I did get Hubby's socks finished, he's very pleased.
Thanks for all the comments & guesses on my last post...I do love my garden especially this time of year as I anticipate all the new flowers, so you can expect to see plenty more of my pretty garden faces as they emerge!
Here are #'s 2, 4 & 6~~they opened this week.
Maryland Sheep & Wool happening this weekend...but I'm not going....again! The timing is so bad for me, from what I hear about the crowds...I'm not so sure I want to battle for my purchases. I'd LOVE to meet all my blogging buddies there, but like I said the timing is bad. It just so happens that the first weekend of May is very special...this year we celebrate 25 years~~My Baby Boy...DS#2 turns 25. So hard to believe! Not to mention I'm not lacking in fiber of any sort, so it's best I stay away from the temptation. I hope all you that ARE going will fondle some fiber...kiss a sheep and/or alpaca and say hello to my fellow bloggers for me! I'll miss you all...
Keep on Knittin' & Spinnin'!!

Those socks are great! Is that purchased yarn or did you spin it yourself?
The flowers are beautiful! I noticed my first peony bloom today! I need to get out there with the camera tomorrow before it gets too dark....
Oh i thought that first photo was a moose!
Oh man! I was hoping you would go, then we can finally meet in person!!! That's ok, there is always next year! :)
I still can't tell what the picture is. Moose or Bigfoot? lol
GORGEOUS blooms! Very pretty. One day I'll get to MS&W Fest - or Rhinebeck or some such interesting event, maybe KITCHENER - fiber AND Canada, that'd be grrrrand =)
The socks are great
Great socks! and the flowers are gorgeous...
We'll just have to stay here and enjoy the weekend -right? See you tonight!
(((hugs)))
Claytor is being developed into a major resort. Have fun! I've lived near SML most of my life. The only times the lake is busy is July 4th and occasionally memorial day & labor day. Most any other time, its dead slow.
Love the socks. I hear ya' on quiet vacation spots!
I'm not sure I'm going to make it to MDS&W this year either. Pooh! It would be the perfect opportunity to try the other wheels on my list, but it's a long drive, too long for my back to do alone, and I don't think the Knight is going to be up to it - he's coming down with a rotten cold and has to work on Saturday already...
Aw, happy birthday to your son and a happy day to you to. I'm envious that you've gone camping already. I have to wait 'til July :(
I decided not to go to the sheep and wool fest either. Like you say, too many people and for me, it would be a little too hard with the current state of my knee.
Glad you had a good camping trip.
Bigfoot. I definitely see Bigfoot!
Glad you had fun on your camping trip.
I promise to love on some livestock for you :)
as for Smith Mountain lake goes... I remember going out as a kid and being allowed to steer the boat because there were so few people out. There was farm land on the side of the lake with cows that would sometimes get stuck in the mud. It was an entirely different atmosphere... I miss that lake!
I was not going and then I was talked into it. This moring I wake up and I've deceided I can't go. I only need a spindle, a cheap one to play with, so as of 5:30am 5/2 I'm not going. I will need to sit most of the day, shelping my own portable chair. Thought I'd hang out where Raverly will be set up.
Socks look great
Sounds like your camping trip was fun. I've been to Claytor Lake too and it is beautiful; did you catch anything? (My son caught his first fish at C.L.).
Happy Birthday to DS #2!
Okay...for real, what was that in the picture??? We won't discuss how much Weird Travels I've watched on t.v.. LOL
The socks look great, too!
I love my garden too! Your pics are fabulous and I love the "guess the bud" cool!
