Garden update~

Mary, Mary quite contrary...
How does your garden grow?

Well...my name is not Mary, but my Grandaddy always told me I was "quite contrary"!

Of course, if you know the origin of the nursery rhyme you know it has nothing to do with "gardening" - I thought it was the best lead in to my gardening post.

Remember this picture?

Well it has started blooming and the hummingbirds are very happy! This is my Crocosmia I planted it 3 summers ago and never regretted it.

Pretty huh?

My veggie garden is producing, each day I'm getting something to prepare for meals. I'm anxiously watching my first tomato turn, my mouth is watering...seeing as how I haven't had a tomato in months!

The butterflies are even enjoying my garden...

It's been a VERY busy week here, I don't know if I'm coming or going at this point. I'm seriously ready for a vacation.

I've received my HHHH Swap partners, both are very nice. This is going to be so much fun, the first "spinning" swap I've participated in.

Until next time...

Keep on Knittin' & Spinnin'

Funny you should mention it...in my kindergarten end of the year program, I was Mary Mary Quite Contrary. I'll bet if the teachers knew back then what it really meant, they'd have chosen different characters.

How did you get that great shot of the butterfly on the bush? I have a shot of one on the back side of our new butterfly bush, but when I tried to move into a position - with a zoom, of course! - to get a better shot, the bugger flew away.

My favorite is the butterfly shot! Not that butterflies are special to me or anything *wink*

Lovely photos Robin! I should take pictures of my yard. The dandelions and crabgrass are in full bloom. ;) LOL (I'll continue to live vicariously through your garden).

Okay, I'm with Kathy...time to google "Mary Mary...". I take it something like Ring Around The Rosey.
