Well, I never thought I would do this...but here goes! Stay tuned as I create this blog, adding pictures and information about me, my family and friends.
A little background on me...I learned all my "craftiness" at my precious Grandmother's knee. Today would have been her 81st Birthday, we lost her this past February and I miss her greatly! I learned to quilt at the age of 5, my great-grandmother taught me how to crochet at the age of 6, I learned to knit with pencils at the age of 8...I could continue on but I think you will get the picture! I've sewn for more than 30 years, it started out of necessity and became a business which I had to stop in the last year. Carpal tunnel has reared its ugly head. In all these years I have never given up my love of knitting, it's always been there and in the last 3 years I've learned to spin (yeah, one more hobby).
My husband and I are Living Historians, we've become time travelers, going from the 19th to 18th Century this past year. We frequently volunteer at Virginia's Explore Park (www.explorepark.org) where we split time between both centuries and now we've added Martin's Station in Ewing, Va. as one of our venues. I'll be posting pictures soon...stay tuned.
We love camping and photography...and watching sports together. I'm a very different sort...I tell people that I was my father's first son, 4 years later my brother came along, but they still couldn't get me into a dress! I love old cars...not just looking at them, but working on them too!
Well....the World Series is on and I'm going to miss something...not to mention this is taking time from my knitting!!!!
Stay tuned....More to come!!!
