Lost...

...I'm lost without my little man! I'll drop him off this morning, they'll call me later to pick him up...but geez is this going to be a weird day!

Did you know I have a fetish (or two - or three)? I LOVE buttons. I guess it all started when I was little...my granny used to have jars & tins full of buttons, I used to play with them. Organize them by size, color, shape and number of holes. I have a jar of buttons that was my Granny's ~ it still smells like her house. I still collect buttons today, when we visit antique shops the first thing I start looking for are buttons. I have buttons dating back to the mid-19th Century (did you know that Goodyear made buttons before they ever made tires? I have some in my collection), handmade buttons and buttons I've taken off of items before turning them into rags (something my Granny used to do..."waste not-want not" as she used to say), I've even picked lost buttons up off the street. Will I ever use them...probably not. But hey, if you ever need a button...

Here are a couple of my latest acquisitions:

When The Yarn Lounge posted about them I called immediately! Aren't they cute?! Then they posted more...I shoulda waited, hopefully we'll be going to Richmond soon! Dani, check out the Maple Leaf buttons!

Love me some buttons!!

Can't wait till they call me to pick up Rudy....

Keep on Knittin' & Spinnin'!

I hope Rudy's surgery goes as well as Gretchen's. She was so alert and happy when I got her...

I love buttons too. They're small, happy little things...

I have a ton of buttons too. In fact my first ETSY purchase ever was buttons.

I was just the same with my grandma's buttons. I would pile and sort them, and then pick a different kind of sorting. So much fun.

Love those Maple Leaf ones!

I will be glad for you when Rudy is home

The button box used to be a staple in every home. My mother had one, and I could spend hours playing in her buttons. A few weeks back, I tried to start my own button box. I didn't get very far before I cleaned Wal-mart out of their variety.

I've got a button jar like that and every now and then I'll open it up just to get a whiff of childhood. :-)

Glad Rudy got through his surgery okay! (I read ahead.) Give him some love for me and tell him he didn't need that thing anyway. lol

Oh, that kind of surgery! Poor little man. But he'll heal fast with all the love and attention he'll have at home. :)
I love buttons too. Particularly unusual buttons. I like buttons that are a bit earthy or handmade or just quirky. I cut the buttons off things before they become rags too. My Gran used to do that as well. And I loved nothing better than playing with her buttons in her button tin. Yes indeed, I too love me some buttons! :)
