We have a winner!!

It's always nice to get good news on a Monday. Thanks to everyone for their comments and guesses. If you are reading this...TJ (sorry no email or blog in which to contact you) you guessed the closest and broke the three way tie that was going on. Please email me at spinnerknitter at aol dot com so I can get your prize to you.
My total estimated yardage is 2133 yds...boy I wish I had what some of y'all guessed!
I'm checking out lots of patterns, including the one my buddy Tanya showed on her blog...woo-woo!! Love cables!

FRESH OTN!!!

I have conquered a new technique and ready to do more!!!

Kauni is Off The Needles!!

Here she is ready for her buttonband...

Fearless Me making that final cut...

...believe me it gets easier each time you cut!

All done but the weaving, blocking and buttons...

Which brings me to yet another challenge...

Finding the perfect button! Help...
Any suggestions?

Keep on Knittin' & Spinnin'!!

I may be overstepping, but I don't like any of those. The cardi is so pretty and busy of it's own right that if it was me (and it isn't, clearly -lol) I'd pick some solid color without an additional pattern in them. I might be tempted to match the color changes and use buttons of different colors, but I'd probably talk myself out of it. =)

I mean, I like the buttons by themselves, just that they sorta fight with the cardi

ok, I shut up now =][

Oh, I love it!!! Makes me want to run out and knit one up myself!!! Alas I don't have the patience right now... but I can live vicariously through you... hope you don't mind.

First - I can't believe I won!! I wasn't going to enter since I figure I never win so I just lurk around and enjoy the photos. My daughter convinced me to take a stab at almost the last minute!! I sent you mail with my address (the subject line is "From TJ", and it's a gmail account).

I LOVE the sweater. I think it is really beautiful, and you are so brave to have cut it. My mother used to do that with no hesitation, but I'd be terrified!

Thanks again for a really fun contest!

Like the button on the right - is it wooden? Can't tell in the picture. Other choice would be one that matches the button band.

What a gorgeous sweater! Wow! Hmm..I love the clear/blue button but not with that sweater. I like the pewter-looking one with that sweater, but maybe a really nice choice would be a solid colored button to match the sweater. Just mho...which really doesn't matter lol...

I knew you'd do fine with that cutting! Scares me though. Catie just did it too.
I didn't know that Jennifer is knitting a Kauni as well. I think I'll have to put that on my 'to do' list.

I think the sweater is fabulous! And i like the buttons, nut then i am quite eclectic that way.
Lol, i got all excited at first, thought i won..but then remembered i was turtle, not tanya (missed it by 33 yards!) So congrats to the other tanya!! (and she spells it the right way too)
Have a great week! And..keep knittin and spittin!

You did a GORGEOUS job on that sweater!!!

I am suitably IMPRESSED! Fantasic work. You're right to feel very pleased (and proud) of yourself. Well done you!!! I think wooden buttons. They are more earthy. You don't want to take away from the beauty of the cardi itself. Buttons that are too fancy would fight for attention. Just my 'two bob's worth'. :o)

Congratulations on finishing the sweater. It is fabulous! You truly are fearless. You have tackled the two things that intimidate me the most--knitting with multiple colors and steeking. I bow in awe of you!

Congrats on finishing the cardi! Don't know if I would ever be brave enough to cut! I think I prefer the button on the left.

Oh well missed winning by 33yards! Was going to have a second guess but didn't think it would be fair!

Very cool. If ever I learn to sew, I'll have to worry about steeking...

Kauni is quite beautiful. I hate having to pick buttons especially since I need to see them in person and we have such limited selection round these parts. I think a solid would be really nice since there's so much color in the sweater.

You know you wanna knit, Louhi (mwah hahahaha).

Oooo, pretty.

I can't really see the buttons on my monitor, but I think maybe a greenish-yellow color would be nice (to match the color in the cardigan). Just thinking out loud...

Congratulations on finishing!!

OMG! Just seeing you with scissors in hand pointed at the cardigan, scared me to death! Keep looking for buttons! Wait until that little inner voice yells THAT'S THE ONE! Maybe nice wooden ones or pewter.
